Well talk about squeaking in at the last minute. This month's challenge over at Aurora Wings Challenge Blog ends tonight at 11:55 PM EST. SQUEAK! Just made it! This time their challenge was black & white with or without a splash of colour. Simplicity at it's best. I love it! So I picked Mitzi's Whisper of the Sea image and used my Cool Grey Copics with a splash of blue green. I have some old 6x6 pads from My Minds Eye in black & white for the matting and used a basic black cardstock for the card. Hope you enjoyed. Please join us in the next challenge or on Facebook. ..
It's been a while since I've been able to really sit down and complete a card. Our puppy is 5 months old today, but still takes up 110% of our lives. I just realized on Saturday, that next Sunday is Mother's Day. Egads! Since my card has to get in the mail today to make it in time, I had to just push through all the outside noises and get this card done! The card I made is for my Mother-In-Law. I used Tiddly Inks Thankful Heart Wryn's free topper (it's included in the digital download). I coloured her up with Copics and used BoBunny "Prairie Chic Collection" 6x6 papers. Sorry,..

I haven't figured out how to do a sidebar in this blog software yet. To be honest, I haven't really looked at it. But I have a few badges I've earned from contests via my favourite digital artists. Since I don't have a sidebar, I'll do a little write-up about this badge. Christy Croll is a FANTASTIC artist. I have every last image she has in her shop. I use her images for Christmas, birthday, Valentine's and anniversary cards. I've shared her work on Facebook, here in my own blog, as well as with friends and family. She's amazing. Her website is http://www.tiddlyinks..
Mitzi has honoured, and surprised me by asking me to be a Guest Designer for her September Challenge, Crop It! I can't even begin to tell you how excited, scared, thrilled and amazed I am. Where to begin? Mitzi has so many amazing designs to chose from, and at this point in time, a lot of my art has been Steampunk themed. I have several of her Steampunk images, so I knew I'd be picking one of those. I printed Steampunk Angel onto X-Press It Copic Blending Card and coloured her using my Copic markers. Dress - Red: R22, 37, 59, T10 Dress - Beige: E40, 42, 44 Skin: E50, 51, 11,..
I am so not a blogger. I like to create for challenges, but I usually forget to blog about my design. Thankfully, the Aurora Wings Challenge Blog forces one to blog before entering one's creation. So here goes: I used one of my favourite images, Memento Mori for this challenge. I wanted a Halloween feel to this card, so I used papers from Echo Park Paper Co., “Under Your Spell”. For coordinating colours, I grabbed some orange and black cardstock from my stash. This beautiful image was coloured with Copic markers, and I used Mercury Glass Stickles for the details in the..

This is my second entry to the challenge on the Aurora Wings website, Challenge #55 The Elements. When I first saw Viridis Incendia, I thought she was a mermaid who captured a butterfly and brought it underwater to eat. In Mitzi's Etsy shop, she is described as "a spirit of the carnivorous plant", hehe oops! Oh well, I'm calling this the Air Element, for the butterflies... yeah, that's it. ;) I will also use her in the Facebook challenge as well, which is why I used the FB challenge sketch for this design. Again, she was coloured long ago, and put in my pile. I used Copic mar..
When I first saw Mitzi's Siren digi I knew I had to have her. I coloured her immediately, then stuck her in my "ok, so now what do I do with this?" pile (I have a BIG pile too). The challenge on the Aurora Wings website, Challenge #55 The Elements, was a perfect opportunity to use her, plus it doesn't hurt that I can also use it in their Facebook challenge as well. The FB challenge has a sketch to follow, which is awesome, as my brain doesn't have to come up with a design. ;) Since I coloured her so long ago, I've forgotten the colours I used. All I remember is that I used my Copic markers,..

It's taken quite a bit of time, three months from starting the business, to getting our sign up and doors open. But it's finally done and beginning tomorrow, Hillbilly Rooster Farms store will be officially open to the public. We're still getting in scrapbook & paper supplies, and received a shipment before the weekend. We'll get photos up of the new items shortly. Until then, here are photos of the store. Guard geese always on duty, lol. ..
