Mitzi has honoured, and surprised me by asking me to be a Guest Designer for her September Challenge, Crop It! I can't even begin to tell you how excited, scared, thrilled and amazed I am. Where to begin? Mitzi has so many amazing designs to chose from, and at this point in time, a lot of my art has been Steampunk themed. I have several of her Steampunk images, so I knew I'd be picking one of those.
I printed Steampunk Angel onto X-Press It Copic Blending Card and coloured her using my Copic markers.

I used Distress Ink, Antique Linen very lightly across the background. Once coloured, I cropped her, distressed the edges, and added more of the Distress Ink to the edges. I have some awesome 6x6 papers from Marion Smith Designs, Timekeeper. I loved the brown gear-filled paper, and a red 8x8 paper from a Tim Holtz paper pack. Unfortunately, I can't tell you the name of the paper pack, as I've used many of the sheets already, and didn't keep the front page.
I clear embossed the red paper with Distress Embossing Ink and clear powder using Inkadinkado's Steampunk Holly in the bottom left corner, and Xtimes Flies in the top right corner. I used a black matting on the red paper, and matted the brown paper with the cardstock I used for the card itself. For embellishments, I found some 7/8 inch brown and 3/8 inch red ribbons. I used some red tuille for a bow, glued on a gear with a matching gem, and a couple of feathers in the top right corner. In the bottom right corner, I used some gears from Tim Holtz's Idea-ology collection. On the left side, I had some small keys (unknown company) and attached them to a Steampunk clock-like geared component....... a "whatchamacallit" as my mom would have said. ;)
Here's the finished card:
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!
